The Westchester County Greek Youth Orchestra gathers talented young musicians in the Greek Orthodox community. Together we explore different genres of music such as Greek, Classical, Broadway and Film music. This is a great opportunity to showcase the musical talent of the younger members of the community, and for them to share this talent with the community as a whole through performances during holidays and special occasions.

At our Greek afternoon school, we are devoted to developing literacy and fluency in the Greek language, as well as knowledge and understanding of Greek culture and traditions. Our comprehensive curriculum includes conversational and written Greek, as well as lessons in Greek history, geography, culture, and religion.
In addition to our academic instruction, we believe in the importance of celebrating Greek heritage through cultural events and festive occasions. Our students have the opportunity to showcase their talents by participating in lively performances where they dance, sing, and recite poems. These events are dedicated to honoring Greek national holidays and customs, creating a vibrant atmosphere that brings our community together and strengthens our cultural connections.
Through these enriching experiences, our students not only develop language skills but also cultivate a deep appreciation for their Greek roots. We take pride in nurturing the next generation of Greek language speakers who are knowledgeable about Greek traditions and proud bearers of our cultural heritage.
A Welcome Message
Dear Parents and Community members,
Our Greek School curriculum builds reading, writing, speaking and listening skills, teaches the origins of our Greek traditions and customs, and includes topics on Greek geography, mythology and history. The students - depending on their grade – study about the geography of Greece, ancient Greek civilizations (Cycladic, Minoan, Mycenaean, Golden age of Athens, Macedonian state and Alexander the Great), ancient Greek Mythology (Greek Gods and heroes, like Hercules & Theseus), the ancient Greek poet Homer and his poems (Iliad and Odyssey), the ancient Greek Olympic games and about famous Greek poets, writers and actors of our times. They are also taught songs and prayers depending on holidays and seasons. Our goal besides of course teaching the Greek language is to foster a strong love and respect for the Greek culture, religion, and arts – a sense of pride for our Hellenic heritage.
All our teachers have many years of teaching experience and teaching is their primary occupation. They have attended long term seminars about the teaching of Greek as a second language and most of them were born and raised in Greece and have attended Greek Universities. Also, our school is equipped with smartboards for grades 4th and up, which our teachers use in order to incorporate online activities, games, quizzes, songs and videos in their lessons.
Our Greek school operates twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays from 4.30-6.00pm. On Tuesdays our program includes Greek dance instruction with a certified Greek dance teacher, so our students have the opportunity to learn and enjoy our traditional Greek dances.
The teachers and I are looking forward to working with you to provide a successful school year filled with learning, cultural and spiritual growth, and community building for our Greek school.

Greek School PTA
Remember, we are all working together for “our most precious gifts”...our children!
The Greek School is devoted to developing literacy and fluency in the Greek Language and to cultivating knowledge and understanding of Greek cultures and traditions. The PTA’s role is to enhance and support the Greek School’s mission through volunteering and fundraising events. The present PTA organization was established at our General Assembly meeting on May 17, 2019.
We would like to thank all of the Greek School families for their contributions to this past year’s events. We are now in the process of working out next year’s program in the hope of surpassing last year’s success. We are truly fortunate to have support from our wonderful Greek School Director, Irene Pantelaros, along with our most-loved and respected Fr. Nick, our terrific Greek School Teachers, and the Holy Trinity Church Board and Community.
To enable the Greek School to begin operations on solid footing, we are collecting $30.00 per family which are the PTA dues for the 2018/2019 school year. We only have two General Assembly meetings the entire year. One for elections and the other one is general meeting. In order to have the right to vote, you must be an active PTA member. Kindly fill out the information and membership form below and have a cash payment or check made payable to “Holy Trinity Greek School PTA”, as you register your child/children to Greek School this year. It will make the start to the school year run smoothly.

Sunday School
Sunday School is offered from nursery/preschool through 12th grade.
Children are eligible to enroll in the program if they have had their third birthday by December 15 of the current year, and are potty trained.
Registration
Please complete and submit the registration form to the church office on or before September 24, 2023.
You can complete it online, or download and hand it in to the church office.
Guidelines
Classes
Minimum age for enrollment is 3 years and will be placed in our Pre-K class. Children must be 3 by December 15th and potty trained. Classes are set up according to grade levels in Public School.
Term
The Sunday School year begins September 24, 2023 and goes to June 16, 2024.
Attendance
An attendance recognition is given out each year to those children who do not miss more than 3 Sundays during the Sunday School year. When a child attends another Orthodox Church for service, he/she must bring a note from the Church School (or copy of the bulletin) indicating their attendance. Each student is expected to attend classes every Sunday. (Illness is not an excused absence)
Assistants
Student Assistants are selected by Fr. Nick and must be High School Seniors, registered in the Sunday School Program, provided there is an open position. There are no exceptions to this rule.
Altar Boys
Any Sunday school student 10 yrs or older, wishing to serve as an Altar Boy must contact Fr. Nick or Fr. Demetrios. They must also be registered in the Sunday School Program.
Hours
Sunday School begins 10:00 am SHARP. Students and Teachers, excluding Pre-K & Kindergarten classes, must be in Church by 10:45, the latest. The Divine Liturgy ends at 11:30 am. Any child arriving after 10:10 am will be marked “tardy”. Four (4) tardiness’ will constitute an absence. Pre-K & Kindergarten Teachers and Students only begin their classes in their rooms. ALL other grades begin in Liturgy and proceed with their class to their room after the gospel lesson and “children’s” sermon.
Each grade will attend the full Divine Liturgy once a month according to the following schedule:
1st Sunday of the Month: 1st, 2nd Grades
2nd Sunday of the Month: 3rd, 4th, HS Grades
3rd Sunday of the Month: 5th & 6th Grades
4th Sunday of the Month: 7th & 8th Grades
5th Sunday of the Month: HS 9-12th Grades
Fees
The children to pay a nominal registration fee of:
1 child $ 30
2 children $ 50
3 children $ 60
4 children $ 70
and make weekly offerings. These contributions help pay a small portion of our Sunday School budget and most importantly, cultivate the Christian idea of Stewardship to the children.

Manhattan Soup Run
Upcoming Dates
Since 2009, our Soup Run Ministry has been serving individuals who make their homes on the streets and other persons in need. We hope to offer some relief and try to provide the essentials needed for survival. Volunteers pack clothing donations, toiletry kits and sundry items and car pool to the city where food prepared in our Church kitchen and these items are distributed to those in need.

Today’s AHEPA is an extended family bound by a passion for education, and a dedication to community service, philanthropy, and individual excellence.
Although a majority of the membership is composed of Americans of Greek descent, application for membership is open to all men who believe in the mission of the organization.
AHEPA was founded on July 26, 1922 in response to the evils of bigotry and racism that emerged in early 20th century American society. It also helped Greek immigrants assimilate into society.
Today, AHEPA brings the ideals of ancient Greece, which includes philanthropy, education, civic responsibility, and family and individual excellence to the community.

Young at Heart
Young at Heart is a social ministry of the parish, bringing together any and all members of our community over the age of 60 for monthly luncheons.
Beyond the monthly meeting - which are on the first Wednesday of every month at 11:00 AM, except July, August, and September - Young at Heart also organizes special events and trips.
