“Humility is the door to the Kingdom of Heaven, and it leads there those who draw near to it. “
Thou didst abolish death by Thy Cross; Thou didst open Paradise to the thief; Thou didst transform the myrrh-bearers' lamentation, and didst bid Thine Apostles to preach that Thou art risen, O Christ God, granting great mercy to the world.Lord, save Your people and bless Your inheritance, granting our rulers to prevail over adversaries, and protecting Your commonwealth by Your Cross.
"Among the first remember, Lord, our Archbishop and Father DEMETRIOS: grant him to Your holy churches in peace, safety, honor, and health, unto length of days, rightly teaching the word of Your truth."
We respectfully extend the happiest of birthday wishes to our Archbishop Demetrios on the occasion of his 90th year. Είς Πολλά Ετη Δέσποτα !
The Oath of Office was administered to the 2018 Board of Trustees. Executive board members for this year are: Dino Yotides, President; John Dos Santos, Vice President; Art Prifti, Treasurer; and Ron Nicholas, Secretary.
The Philoptochos had a very successful Hats & Gloves for the Homeless sale after liturgy today. We sold more than 100 sets of scarves, hats and gloves that will be distributed this Thursday during our Soup Run. We thank the Knitting for Charity group for knitting and crocheting the beautiful items.
On Sunday, December 10, we were presented with a beautiful concert of American and Greek Christmas songs, played by the very talented Westchester Country Greek Youth Orchestra. Once again, we thank all of the members of the Orchestra for their dedication, their parents for their encouragement, and especially Mr. Thanos Kokkalas for teaching these musicians and leading the orchestra. BRAVO!
